How can Adobe illustrator file be exported into a printable format?
If you want to use Illustrator to create business cards, that's fine, and you can do so using the built-in templates which include crop marks for the printer's convenience. (FILE%26gt;NEW FROM TEMPLATE.../Blank Templates/Business Card 1_Blank.ait for example, assuming you're using the CS2 version).

When you have created the final artwork I would suggest that you save an .AI document containing all font information which you can keep for future editing, and then save an .EPS file with all fonts converted to outlines which you can send to the printer - SELECT%26gt;ALL then TYPE%26gt;CREATE OUTLINES.

An even better format to send to the printer would be a .PDF format which Illustrator can create natively.
Reply:Illustrator is usually used for simply creating vector art. Any art you create here is then imported into a page layout program such as Quark or InDesign. This is the program you use for creating business cards.

However, if you have the art all laid out in Illustrator, you should be able to save it as an .eps file and print anywhere fine.
